Hello dear all,
I was already able to gather and even implement some tips here, now the garden (outdoor area) is up next.

It currently looks as follows.

[*]Gravel placed around the house and compacted up to the terrace.
[*]Strip foundation for the garage completed and filled with gravel.
[*]The terrain was excavated to the desired level last year. (On two levels, since it’s a sloped property)

My question to the group, as you might guess, concerns retaining the slopes.
Since we built against the slope, a height difference of

[*]1.20 m to the private road, which leads to two semi-detached houses (cul-de-sac and therefore no traffic).
[*]And 1.80 m height difference to the upper level (later play area for two children)

Now the question is, how would you design the slope stabilization?

The street side is clear. Formwork blocks - reinforcement - foundation - drainage - dimple membrane, etc. But then? Plaster or veneer?

I want to design the slope to the upper level differently and would like to hear your opinions on that as well.

[*]Plant ring stones or similar, which are now available in various shapes and colors.
[*]Massive retaining wall, if yes then granite, Jura, or shell limestone.

I personally find L-blocks ugly.
My wife doesn’t like gabions and we don’t want to do our own formwork and concreting. It’s cheap but also looks cheap afterwards. Even if plastered or veneered.

Basic data:
Plot 700 sqm
Depth of the excavated terrace in front of the house {between slope and house} 6 m
Width 12 m.
Slope already has an inclination of about 15 %.
Area of the upper level approx. 350 sqm.
I’m uploading a picture taken with the drone that nicely shows the property from above, though nothing was excavated back then.

Looking forward to ideas, opinions, and of course criticism.

Hi,
unfortunately I can't contribute anything to your question.
However, your roof caught my positive attention. Would you like to reveal which stone/tile was used for your roofing?

Actually, it's not a question I asked, rather I wanted to know what kind of taste the community here has when it comes to stones. Nevertheless, they are nelskamp concrete tiles from finkenberger in light gray.
