You can’t leave the door open when you’re simmering something. You would have to keep opening and closing it, which can be a bit annoying for some.

Yeah, that would be the case - but at least here the door is rarely (never) open when I cook - instead I have an exhaust fan and, if necessary, two window sashes.

Well, the door right in front doesn't slam either - you can still stand there.

But well, everyone has to judge for themselves. I just wanted to say that it doesn't have to be an immediate nuisance in general.

An advantage of outward-opening terrace doors is, for example, that a gust of wind essentially blows the door shut rather than inward into the room, where it might uncontrollably hit something.

I don’t know Steffi’s kitchen plans now, but she is thinking about it, the island shouldn’t be that bad....
At your place: can the right side also be opened? The handle might be better placed there, then you could quickly get parsley from outside while standing in front of the stove.

That gust of wind can also push the doors outward beyond the hinges, either bending them or causing the door to hit the outer wall.

I suspect if it were that bad, more people would have

: No, it's a fixed part. Unfortunately, the parsley is still from the herb section - emphasis on still!
