Hello everyone,

We are currently planning our single-family house and are a bit confused about the data for the surveying. Maybe you can shed some light on this.
We have already bought a plot of land from the municipality, which was already assigned a parcel number. Now we have received mail from the municipality asking us to pay the surveying costs for the plot in the amount of about €1,500. The surveying was carried out by the [Katasteramt].
So far, everything is clear.

However, I have not yet received any documents or plans of the survey. Is that normal?
Concrete data would be important for our design and for the architect, since we are building on a south-facing slope.
Where can I get the required data? Preferably also in 3D!

Or do I get nothing for €1,500 and have to find a surveyor myself? I would find that very strange if you pay quite a lot and get no information at all!
The municipality couldn’t help me either ‍♂️.

It would be great if you could help me!

Have a great start to the week

The surveying is usually just the locating of boundary stones, etc.

For your planning, required heights, terrain profiles, etc., as far as I know, are not part of the official surveying.

(For me, the final survey was now. 10 corners of the house measured, 800 €... this fee schedule is really cheeky!)

Who commissioned the surveying? What does the purchase contract say?

The cadastral office only has location data. There are no heights. Ask the neighbor for a reference height. Then you can easily measure the heights yourself with a spirit level.

So probably "only" for the Katasteramt, i.e. official surveying. You will probably receive a cadastral map as a result. If you need surveying data including elevation levels yourself, then please commission it yourself and pay again. P.S. Why did it have to be surveyed at all if there was already a plot of land? What exactly does the purchase contract say? That makes it all a bit easier to classify.

If I pay for the surveying, I expect the location coordinates from the [Katasteramt] for free. Normally, there is a fee for that.
