The possibility of using the walls to mount wall cabinets was not really on my radar during the planning phase. With the perforated bricks it’s clear: it will be solid, but when drilling, the red brick dust first flies around and may possibly ruin the freshly painted walls. A clear disadvantage, but it can’t be changed now. Breaking out the aerated concrete doesn’t sound much better either...

Kitchen cabinets, wardrobe, washbasin etc.... everything holds. Ytong. Use a steel drill bit, it makes sharp holes in the white stuff that don’t fray. Plug, screw, secure.

You can drill almost without resistance in aerated concrete, which always gives me an uneasy feeling or doubts about whether it will hold or whether I have dimensioned everything correctly.

Every material needs its own anchor; for aerated concrete you use drive anchors, no drilling... or heavy-duty anchors.

Cardboard with painter's tape and a coffee filter underneath. The dust falls in there and nothing gets built in.
