Good evening dear forum community.

We are currently in the factory planning phase, and the topic of ceiling light outlets is currently relevant. I have now received information that for the lamp outlet on the ceiling, there is nowadays a so-called ceiling light connection box as the state of the art. (e.g. Kaiser 1248-55 or U 71 DAD) The construction company denies this; such boxes are subject to an additional charge.

So simply asked: what is the "state of the art" or the recognized standard practice in construction, or is there even a DIN standard?

Thank you very much & best regards

We built in 2016 and did not have a connection box. A conduit with cable came from the ceiling.

Therefore, if it is not explicitly mentioned in the construction contract, you will not get something like this.

With us, bare cables come out of the ceiling. The electrician connected/laid them on the precast floor slab before pouring the in-situ concrete.

No, they have insulation so they don't get cold, so absolutely species-appropriate housing. And even a sheath, in case ladies or children are watching. No panic.

If you want to recess ceiling spotlights directly into the ceiling, then you also have to install/pour a kind of box into the ceiling. For classic hanging lamps, usually only cables hang out of the ceiling. To attach the lamp, a hole is drilled into the concrete ceiling later on.

If you are against drilling, then the boxes you mentioned may make sense, provided that you can already hang pendant lamps with the corresponding load capacity on them.

Regarding the boxes for ceiling spotlights, I have read from user reports that the installation of these including materials costs about €50-80 each.
