stair railing

Hello forum community,
at the moment I am struggling with the decision whether to install a proper stair railing, which also includes fall protection, or a nice-looking handrail on my stairs.
In the Dropbox link you can see how it currently looks.

I think a small, delicate handrail or rope on the wall looks better, but what happens if the first person falls?
The stairs lead to a living area, there are no children yet.

I am looking forward to numerous suggestions and opinions.

Well, if children are planned, this question doesn't even arise. It looks good without [content in square brackets]... but even I, with already some age-related bruises on my legs and feet, would feel a bit uncomfortable on it ;) I would wait to see if a child ever moves into the house or if you feel safe without protection. I would provide a fall protection on the left and a handrail on the wall on the right. And I wonder that it was planned and built without that at all. Retrofitting it later will be elaborate ...

I would have a railing built. No matter how old you are, you can always trip somehow and then you’re glad to be able to hold on to something.
