That depends on what kind of wall construction you have. We have a timber frame house with drywall walls. It was simple in our case, I used a 3m straightedge for the 5m staircase, placed it on the edges of the steps, and then ran a router with the correct depth setting along the surface of the straightedge. The result is a perfectly fitting slot in the wall. Now I just have to install the moldings and the LED strips this weekend. Hey, how much space did you leave between the LED strip and the steps? Judging by the picture, I would guess 10 cm? Is the chosen distance optimal to illuminate the steps?
