Hello everyone, after a month the versions are slowly getting on my nerves and I would like to buy lamps... easier said than done. Specifically, I would like to tackle the kitchen and dining area:

2 outlets above the countertop 1 outlet in the middle of the kitchen area 1 outlet above the counter 1 outlet above the dining table

and living room:

2 outlets in the room

My wife likes the Batista from Eglo - you could get a 4-light for the dining table, a 3-light for the counter, and three singles for the rest (?) - does that make sense? That wouldn't be about ambiance or spotlights - it would just be a lot of lamps :D Ambiance is also provided by the wall cabinets and the range hood.

I'm at a loss for the living room - my wife likes chandeliers... but two? I think very delicate objects alone look nice.

In our office, we now have a lamp that illuminates the table from below and shines on the ceiling above (nickel beams on two cables in terms of look) - do you know something like that?

Everyone really has to decide on lamps themselves. Just go to the hardware store and have a look. Or to the lamp shop, although they sometimes have really crazy prices. Our lamps were all installed before moving in except for 2. We did a big shop on Amazon. For the hallway/living room we still had some left from the rental place. The rest were many rooms with LED or whatever you liked. I didn't care at all in many rooms. I myself also have a stylish lamp in my office :)

The lighting in the kitchen has to be such that it doesn't cast shadows on the work surface when you are standing in front of it. Furthermore, it should properly illuminate the countertop but not dazzle. Otherwise, there is actually little to consider. The table lamp should be height adjustable, for example to change the lighting of the table. Alternatively, one could think about dimmable lamps in various places.

Even though the thread is a bit older and will probably already be equipped:

In the kitchen, we each have two LED strips under the wall cabinets (switchable directly on the strip). The extractor hood also has 2 LED spots, which, to my surprise, are used more often than expected.

We searched the longest for the lamp above the table. We actually started looking for suitable lamps even before the first groundbreaking. We only found them shortly after moving in. I wanted a lamp that illuminates certain kitchen areas and at the same time the kitchen table. Preferably this should be done using LEDs. At the same time, it should be designed so that a (fat) film formed by cooking steam in the kitchen cannot excessively dirty the lamp. Thus, many lamps under the table were excluded. Others were in price ranges of 300 euros ++ (for a kitchen lamp). I wanted to go up to 100 - possibly up to 150 euros.

After endless searching, we found what we were looking for where I did not expect it. At ALDI. They once had a lamp on offer with 2 adjustable spots and in the middle an LED light with a glass plate directly underneath (maybe I’ll manage to take a photo of it sometime). Before, I always said: Oh, stop it – all ugly and looks cheap (and it was). But this lamp fit my ideas very well.

I also have trouble with lamps: we have wall outlets on the left and right of the bed - maybe I'll find suitable reading lamps with a swivel arm and a switch at the head for under 100 €. In the bathroom, we also have an outlet for an accent light - a socket would be easier, most lamps that come into question have a plug. Above the dining table, we have a temporary lamp from Ikea hanging for 5.99. I think it will still be hanging there in 19 years. In the dressing room, I had a switchable socket installed high up - for indirect lighting of the shelves... bottom of the priority list :)
