Sowing Lawn - When is the Ideal Time?

Today is October 8th and we supposedly have at least 14 sunny days ahead with about 20 degrees each. Could it still work to sow grass before it really gets cold? We are located at about 600 meters above sea level. Or is it simply better to wait until spring?

Just put it in. Still works.

Just do it, you have to overseed anyway. But if it works, you'll already have a lawn in the spring.

It might work or not. I personally decided to overseed my lawn spots burnt in summer only in spring. Because grass actually needs 10°C even at night and we've already had many nights well below that, even 3°C. The next few days should be warm enough. Whether it will germinate by then, we’ll have to see. I prefer to wait until spring. For us, it is also the case that I always have to watch freshly sown spots like a hawk because of children, cats, and dogs. In combination, it was too "risky" for me.
