We have both in the company kitchens: 1. Faucet with carbon dioxide/soda maker, adjustable 2. Separate from that, the 100-degree faucet for tea water
These faucets are fed by a central water system with tap water, which is filtered before it enters the drinking water cycle.
The items are very nice and practical - in my opinion, they are reserved for use cases that involve more frequent use (such as in a company, etc.). Otherwise, the purchase has less utility, since the investment is very high. These items were invented so that 20, 50, 100 people don’t come to the workplace with their kettles and coffee machines and the kitchen looks like the VW delivery parking lot in Emden, only with kettles and SodaStream soda makers.
The 100-degree faucets tend to fail frequently after 3 years and need to be repaired. They break down one after another.
The soda makers use - like Sodastream - a carbon dioxide bottle. Pari.
So - although the faucets fascinate me despite the enormous price: For 1: We also deliberately bought a Sodastream (the one with glass bottles) instead of such a faucet. Used daily, it has proven very effective, especially since we have enormously good and tasty tap water. Yes, the time needed to make a bottle of water is a bit longer than with the faucet, but it only takes a few seconds.
For 2: When I boil the amount of water for a cup of tea in the kettle, it is so fast and energy-efficient, the faucet cannot keep up.
I am of the opinion that in a normal household area, a Sodastream and a good kettle are completely sufficient. At total purchase costs of 130 euros, also manageable.
