Screwing through a "sheet metal roof." For heaven's sake! That will make the entire sealing leak.
The sheet metal stays on the roof for that. ;-)
So, I have three different sheet metal coverings here and they have been watertight for over 15 years despite photovoltaic systems (which really aren't glued on). The 450 kWp installed by my employer last year also haven’t caused any leaks. Just like tens of thousands of industrial roofs across the country. I wonder how they all installed their photovoltaic systems...
There are minimum distances that must be observed near the roof edges.
Where does it say that? And why doesn't my roof know about it? ;-)
Under certain, very high wind loads, it is wise not to go all the way to the edge. Right up to the ridge, which depending on the covering requires additional tile shifting (experienced twice), is no problem.
