I see no contradiction... and that's exactly what I'm talking about... see your Synohr experiences...

I do not yet see the added value here of controlling something via voice control instead of switches. Smart home should primarily work without control interventions, i.e., the blinds automatically close in summer for shading, in the evening after sunset (but first checks if the terrace door is open, etc.). The light at the sink and in the hallway should turn on automatically when needed...

An inexpensive good system is also Homematic. Inexpensive, easy to integrate into normal wiring by oneself, and comprehensive. However, it is based on radio and only a few providers.

I originally come from Ukraine. I have now decided on the Z-Z-Wave variant and wanted to look for a suitable gateway. However, I did not find any on Amazon rated with more than 4 stars. I read through the reviews and apart from delivery difficulties, there were quite a few problems with the devices. The only central unit that is more or less well rated is the one from homee. Obviously, the biggest advantage is being able to run all radio standards together, but I don't want that. I only want to operate Z-Z-Wave with homee. What do you think about that? Which gateway should I take a closer look at?

Take a look at VERA and Fibaro and yes, you guessed right z-Z-Wave is still in its infancy, but if you want wireless, I wouldn't necessarily choose anything else.

Wrong. Homematic also works wired, and if Homematic, then I also recommend wired! I have already spoken positively about Homematic here several times. Although I ultimately decided on KNX (not more expensive)... but whatever. I have tried a lot with Homematic... but only wired then.
