We consciously decided against switches and use either the remote control, the smartphone, or WLAN/radio control (TaHoma). So far, there have been no problems with anything not working.
There are many situations where a radio system is not "secured" by, for example, cables.
But well… users think differently. My sister, for example :)

My heartfelt congratulations on that. At my grandmother’s, DLAN also works from the living room to the hallway, but for 8 out of 10 others, it is rubbish. Similar applies to Digitalstrom, experience shows.

Powerline has always had serious problems, especially when it goes beyond certain sizes and quantities, which is why most manufacturers move away from it again or don't even start with it in the first place. Digitalstrom is no exception. Latency also increases with size, and at a certain point (unfortunately, it comes faster than you would like) it simply stops being fun, and then there's the issue of accelerated aging of the components due to thermal stress, because we're dealing with 230V.

And I won’t even start talking about the prices...

But hey, if you don’t know anything else, it seems to work quite well....

This thread comes at just the right time. We had to decide on the switch program this week, and so I have now temporarily put the "critical" roller shutter switches on hold. The background is that our neighbors have already warned us that even the short morning sunlight duration at the current summer temperatures will cause significant temperature problems for our east-facing window fronts.

The standard installation would be some Gira switch, up/down - expandable with programming (sunrise/sunset) at an extra cost. The blinds also get Gira with electronics behind them for the wind sensor. He would also install Shellys for me if I provide them and then put a changeover switch in front. He would install the Homematic HM-LC-Bl1PBU-FM "smart" as standard. But then I would actually need the Homematic central unit to use it smartly, controlled by the sun position or something similar, right?

If I had to decide now, it would be Shelly. The Eltako series 64 also looks very good and Apple is in the household. It would have its charm with native Homekit but it doesn’t help me if I have to make a decision in the next few weeks.

What speaks for Homematic if you leave the wireless topics aside?

Then just have the Shellys installed cheaply and that's that. Either you are satisfied with how things are running and stick with it, or you can easily switch to ELTAKOS (native HomeKit) later on.

Yes, take the Shellys, then we still have something similar where we can help each other (You’re still getting the Arotherm plus 75/6, right?)...
