"Alexa, do what I tell you, damn it", "Alexa! - the OTHER one on the left!" *LOL*

That's a new aspect for the discussion in another thread about whether there should be a door between the kitchen and the living area

Just dumb: what actually happens with such an app from a service provider you are currently having trouble with and the customer account is blocked – do the blinds then stay down and you sit in the dark, even though the electricity bill is undisputedly paid, but without a light switch the electricity is useless?

For me, Alexa is level 3... that is, the very top. Everything else of course works independently of that.

Level 0 = Electrical installation
Level 1 = KNX bus (operation via switches etc. also in case of visualization & logic failure)
Level 2 = Visualization & logic
Level 3 = Alexa

If already wired, I wouldn't rely on Homematic either, but would also recommend KNX. Because it feels like there is no more development in Homematic wired. Only the wireless solution is cheap. I see the advantage of Homematic in the combination of wired and wireless. Thanks to the new Homematic IP devices, the selection is still developing strongly.

That's true up to a point... that's why I switched from Homematic to KNX quite quickly. But basically, I find Homematic quite good... especially for users who are not so technically savvy...
