Yes, it is stone but with a wooden facade, hence the idea.... but I am open to it and you can definitely clad stone with wood if you want. Now I have to wait and see if the application gets approved, the municipality has unofficially promised approval but you never know. I will keep you updated if anyone is interested.

I am very interested! I would also like to know what costs are estimated for you.

Good luck with the project!

So far, only the architect has costs; he wanted 3500 euros. Not little, but he also had to measure the slope on site with 2 people....

Unfortunately, the municipality has not yet responded regarding the building application. The weather is currently not the best, but I am considering maybe starting to dig a little where the foundation is supposed to go and remove old roots. My only concern is whether the slope might then slip or, even worse, if the foundation of the house might encounter problems. I am currently looking for a capable mason who could carry this through with me. So if anyone knows someone from the Aschaffenburg or Main Spessart district.... After your concerns, I have given up on wood for now, also for cost reasons. I have looked at Ytong, Silka, Poroton, and also "Lego" systems, and at the moment I am unsure whether to choose Ytong or Poroton bricks. What, in your opinion, are the pros and cons of each system? Ytong apparently offers something for self-builders, including instruction, but I think the project is too small for that. So many questions....

Unfortunately, the first setback. The municipality has rejected the application. Reason: "In the building application, a valley-side wall height of 5.85 m to the filled terrain was requested for the extension. Measured to the natural terrain slope, the wall height is even about 6.5 m. However, in the not yet legally valid development plan, valley-side wall heights of a maximum of 5.5 m were set. Previous building permits were also assessed based on this. Therefore, the municipal consent for the construction project unfortunately cannot be granted." The building authority has informed the architect, so let's wait and see what he says :-(

Can't you build a shed roof as an extension of the house roof? And thus save one meter of wall height? Room 2 is already planned to be very high.
