Hi everyone,
a brief introduction about me and my project. Our new building is completed and I want to start with the outdoor area. Since I have helped a few times laying terrace slabs or paving a driveway and am also handy in general (I like to claim that, I am a trained electrician), I want to finish my terrace myself. We have already chosen edge stones and terrace slabs (60x60x2 ceramic). The terrace slabs should lie on 30-40cm of well-compacted mineral mixture and a maximum of 5cm of fine gravel. I want to firmly joint everything with a drainage-capable material. I have already planned my desired terrace with Google SketchUp. Since our terrace does not correspond to the standard shape (simply 4x4 shape), I am currently puzzling over the slope. I hoped you could maybe give me one or two tips.
About my problem. As you can see, my terrace should consist of two levels because the garage is one step lower than the house. The main terrace should be level with the house and the terrace area by the garage should be level with the garage. For the main terrace it is clear where the slope goes (red arrow). But where should I direct the slope at the terrace in the garage area? As marked with the green arrow into the drainage of the shower? That would mean I would have to make a diagonal cut. (I still don’t understand how @gesmaingrun managed it without that, topic: "Terrace slabs around the corner") With the execution marked by the yellow arrow I would have to place a channel in front of the step. With the execution marked by the blue arrow I don’t know where the water can be led since the neighbor is about 40-50 cm lower. Do you have a sensible or good tip how this is professionally done or solved?
Oh, on the garage level a cleanliness strip will be created along the garage and house wall. Towards the neighbor I wanted to lead the terrace slabs up to the curbstone or angle stone. And the marked pool will be recessed by 50cm.
In the other two pictures I have laid out a 60x60 grid to show how I would lay everything.
Thanks in advance for your time and possible help.
Best regards, Alex
