Hello,

we are planning a separate parent area with a dressing room, bedroom, and bathroom. It should be a large room where the bathroom is set as an "extra box." The bathroom wall should then be only 2m high, the rest of the room 2.5m.
Since the bathroom is only 4.75m2, I thought of a sliding door to the bathroom. Now my question:
Is there a sliding door without an upper track? Only rollers on the floor and guidance in the wall? Can that work?
Regards

I hardly believe that will work. The door would have to be twice as wide so that there is still some support somewhere even when closed.

Why not use an upper rail that is attached on the left and right?
The best example is the sliding doors on a shower.

I think it just looks silly when there is only a thin rail above the door.

I have already thought of something too, but maybe there is already such a door somewhere that has proven itself.

If Google/ Bilder does not recognize the door then go to the Patent Office afterwards
The biggest problem for the door will be gravity.

For gate systems in driveways, something like this works, but with gates the ratio of height to width is better. Perhaps some kind of telescopic rail could take over the upper guide. It would then only be visible when the door is closed. If my idea becomes a patent, I insist on a 50% share of the profits!

Hello,

apart from the sliding door, I would reconsider the concept of the bathroom.

Points that I see critically:

- Possibly, with a wall height of only 2.00m, shower water could splash into the bedroom. Our shower head is mounted at a height of 2.15m.

- Moisture from the bathroom (steam from the shower) goes directly into the bedroom.

- Sounds from the bathroom (shower, toilet flushing, ...) penetrate unrestricted into the bedroom and disturb the possibly sleeping second person.

- Light from the bathroom disturbs the possibly sleeping second person.

If you already want a wall with only a wall height of 2.00m, I would consider closing the missing 50 cm up to the ceiling with glass for the above-mentioned reasons; then at least only the light problem remains...

Best regards,

Dirk
