Yes, all floor plans definitely need to be redesigned when the cards of the room program have been reshuffled. Whether the living or sleeping basement is a matter of outlook, not least. And of course, with a slope always a "real" architect. My standard answer to the correct garage location is known to be: "what's left over." Childless people with double Porsches may see it differently, but for me it is not a question: the least beautiful children's room gets the cars. Parents, children, (guests and) lively pets, tin pets — that is the divine order.

The space economy of the staircase begins with its location. Then comes the shape, whereby the mistake is often made to look only at the stair surface itself, instead of considering the staircase circulation area: this increases when the entrance and exit are further apart.

To those who prefer feel-good movies instead of crime thrillers, it should be said that bloodstains are unavoidable, and soot marks by wearing gloves. In this respect, Google should actually always display a warning when searching for the term "Pinterest house pictures" or "~ floor plans," advising to enter this area only with an existing plot and after confirmation of the development plan reading. Otherwise, the brainwashing needed will be a dreadful scrub and never completely successful ;-)

For that, I would first have to know "comparable" to what.

Living in the basement Living on the ground floor On the one hand, the garden is then at the living level, on the other hand an open floor plan makes it easier with 1 or 2 sides without windows. However, it might make sense to place the garage in the east so that daylight comes from the west. More than 60 to 80k is saved if a floor is missing. The cellar/basement is not cheaper than above-ground living space. With a slope, only the basement works. Still, it does not mean bigger than necessary. Submerged cellars with a granny flat and storage rooms that you would never have planned on a level are too much.

So U+I with living upstairs, basically slope bungalow. I always thought that my basement mantra "a basement avoided (where the plot dictates it) costs the same as a built basement" was already clear in itself, but I should probably add: "whether you use it or not". Every basement room costs - even if you leave out the screed and (on interior walls) also the plaster.

On a slope, you can live on the ground floor with a view and sleep in the basement. That’s how acquaintances of ours have done it. Downstairs you don’t have a view because you’re surrounded by houses, upstairs it’s really great to sit on the large balcony with a lounge on summer evenings :-) It also has the advantage that sleeping downstairs is a bit cooler, and groceries have short ways to the kitchen. However, they have the slope more towards the north, so there is more light upstairs. And they are not great garden enthusiasts.

A disadvantage with children will be that you can keep less of an eye on them than if the kitchen/living room/garden are all on one level. And the way from the kitchen to the terrace is of course longer.
