Single-family house with a granny flat - ideas wanted

I am currently building a bungalow in a U shape with a granny flat. 160m2 plus integration 70m2 all on one level. I was inspired by Danish holiday homes... I was lucky to get a plot where this became possible. However, there is not much garden left, rather the space for a carport or garage.

We had the problem that most houses with a granny flat are well over 200sqm in total. We didn’t want that either because we have no children/want none... we are now building 140sqm on two levels for ourselves and 50sqm as a staggered single-storey annex

If you don’t want to rent out, your husband could use the granny flat as a spacious office and work there without the typical distractions of a home office

In the sense of a study room, yes; as an office with employees and/or public access, to my knowledge, only allowed in WA (and even then only for freelancers), not in WR.

No idea what exactly is allowed and what is not. For us, it would be an office for home office ... The questioner only mentions a study.

I was thinking less about you or the OP now. In forums, there are usually many more silent readers than active discussants. I just wanted to give them the information: simply using a granny flat as an office does not always work, it also depends on the type of development area.
