sorry OT: I have opened my own thread about our botched mini house (80 m2 basement, 50 m2 ground floor, 50 m2 upper floor, all built-up area). For the shell construction + excavation 250,000 EUR in Vienna.

Don’t be upset, but I really wonder how someone in their early 30s with two small children can easily finance over half a million plus additional incidental costs? But maybe there is a lot of parental support We are both over 50, have 3 children, soon 50% own funds of the total construction sum, but such a high amount would have been too risky for us.

Besides inheritance or parental help, there are also well-paid jobs. Furthermore, there are always well-scaling young companies. One can also be financially propelled upward if one is commercially active in the right industry at the right time. Often, it doesn't even matter whether it's a single or dual income. This is not as extraordinary as the often dreamed-of lottery win.

I think I already wrote something about that.
No basement, a bit more communal space, more central, open to the garden,..

I can also put it this way: what these gentlemen try to present as positive or interesting is something that should be changed.
Yes! In existing buildings, interesting corners should be seen positively because they are compromises that arise. One should be able to live with them if there are other great conversions in return. For a stupid corner, something fantastic must be created so that you take the stupid corner along and make something interesting out of it.

... with a bedroom behind it that lacks some corners.

I don’t see that... but if that’s supposed to be the case, then the corner, the asymmetry, should also be recognizable inside... as a positive center and heart of the entire house.

That is then the price for the sugarcoated mistakes.

You forget that precisely because of noise reasons the house got such an (expensive) shape.

Biolek’s interesting

By now we know Hampshire’s psychologically positive words, but I think it is wrong to sugarcoat everything that needs improvement.

I would really find it great if I could decide for myself what I like!

That would be even better. Where would we end up then?!

it would be even worse if we ignored the OP’s questions
She explicitly asked for our opinion and what we would change. Wool programs are available by the dozen...
