OG: The 2 slanted walls are terrible, I would straighten them out ;)

Regarding the exterior view: Something about the appearance bothers me too, but I can't exactly say what. Overall, it would be too much window area for me. Neither energy-wise sensible nowadays nor does it create a cozy feeling inside, not to mention the parking space. I know enough people who have built like that, almost all of them regret it afterwards.

A staircase not separable from the living area by a door is a matter of taste, but I find it impractical with children, especially regarding noise and privacy.

In the bedroom, I would reconsider the skylight. Do you really need the extra light there? I personally find it quite annoying, especially when it rains.

Yvonne, you are right! But everything is still being revised and so much is changing at the moment! Kbt, we have also thought about that for a long time. Tried normal windows, also as corner windows, but somehow none of it looked right. Now the kitchen island comes up to 50cm close to the fixed floor-to-ceiling window. I have already seen that in real life and it fit. The 'not floor-to-ceiling' windows I actually have to try again at least at the top. Tego, I thought that too when our builder planner drew it in. Previously, both walls were right-angled and accordingly the room entrances. As it is drawn now, he thinks that the entrance situation is better than before, that is, you walk into the middle of the room and not against a cupboard, bed, or the like. Good point about the Velux window, which by the way also concerns the three Velux windows in the galleries of the children's rooms. Would you then put a window into the wall in the bedroom? We have a knee wall height of about 160cm and already have such a window in the bathroom above the tub. However, a bed in the head area also builds higher than a bathtub, at least ours does. A second window is important for ventilation.

Important for ventilation? No ventilation system planned? Nowadays, I wouldn’t want to go without one anymore. If you really want to air out crosswise occasionally, you can simply ventilate through 2 rooms and open the bedroom door. A floor-to-ceiling window in the bedroom would definitely be enough for me. But I also don’t like being in pure glass houses ;) Oh btw: Respect for the model. I think it’s already really well done for a non-professional.

I am always confused when someone talks about single-story buildings and then there are 2 or even with a basement 3. Do I have a misconception? If an upper floor is planned, then it is a 2-story building.

No, it is a second floor, at least here in NS, if more than 2/3 of the floor area below is above. However, not all rooms count equally.
