It doesn't settle in with great windows, but with basement windows above the sofa backs, or at least with a windowsill without little flowers on it like with ;-(
I still think there is a certain added value in having windowsills when the sofa actually stands directly in front of the entire window. Positioned away, of course, looks quite different again. If I had had a meter more depth, I would have also moved my sofa away and chosen a floor-to-ceiling window with access. Otherwise, I find a concealed floor-to-ceiling window neither particularly nice from the inside nor from the outside. The best thing, of course, is always: windows should be as free as possible. Unfortunately, you can’t manage that with limited space; there are floor plans where it is possible, but then you’re more likely looking at 40–50 sqm just for the living/dining area.
