Should the cash discount be deducted from the craftsman's invoice or not?

I am currently wondering whether I should withhold a 3% discount on a craftsman invoice of about €20,000 or not.

A brief background:

- There was no mention of a discount on the offer that was created
- On the order confirmation, with payment of 70% before work begins and payment of the remaining amount immediately - payment without deduction, we grant you a 3% discount.
- On the final invoice, again no discount is mentioned, only "payment immediately without deduction"

The 70% was paid by me before the start of the order. The final invoice is €1,000 cheaper than the offer due to several incorrect executions and less effort.

Would you withhold the discount here or pay in full?

Just pull, it is usually booked out - but you can ask again beforehand.

He has already included the 3% in his calculation anyway.

Discounts are usually deducted only from the final invoice. And invoices often do not mention the discount. As long as it was clarified in the offer, just deduct it.
