Should the cash discount be deducted from the craftsman's invoice or not?

Is it common to pay 70% upfront before the order starts?...20,000 euros / 70% = 14,000 euros for nothing yet...? I wouldn't do that...

Discount is usually deducted only from the final invoice. And invoices often do not mention the discount. As long as it was clarified in the offer, just deduct it.

I have always deducted discounts on down payments and also know it from a business perspective that way. Why shouldn’t you deduct it there? It is money that is paid immediately. And if you were not allowed to deduct it there, you would not get a discount on the full amount.
