Should floating and fixed screed be connected or removed?

Good morning

We are currently renovating a two-family house and in the kitchen two different types of screed have been laid. On the left side is the floating screed and the fixed screed was separated by a metal strip. The right area is not floating.

Would it make sense to work with resin at the joint here and thus connect the two screeds, or should the right part be removed and a new floating screed be built up and then connected at the joint?
