Shorten IKEA PAX sliding door wardrobe

we have moved and now have the following problem:

Our Pax with 2 sliding doors is unfortunately too tall for the new apartment.
Ceiling height: 236.5 cm
PAX side panels: 237 cm

Now we are considering shortening the carcass a bit so that we can still set it up, since the sliding doors are slightly shorter than the wardrobe, which also has a plinth of 6.5 cm.

Can someone help us and tell us how much space there is under the sliding doors to the floor? Because we can shorten the carcass by a maximum of that much.

Just measure the bottom rail where the sliding door is hung, add a few millimeters, then you have the measurement

I would advise you not to shorten anything. At least not myself.

We also tried to manually shorten our cabinet on one side so that special cabinet doors would fit.

A friend who is a carpenter is now trying to get it back into shape.

Anyone more than just handily skilled can manage it. But those who only have the basic craft ABC (like me) should leave it alone.

Off to Ikea and measure at the assembled cabinets there. The easiest and safest way. And it is possible without any problems if you are a bit handy. The only important thing is to maintain the stability of the carcass, i.e., to fix the base accordingly again.
