Then just post a request on eBay Classifieds and look for a screed layer. Out of 30 responses (finding a screed layer is totally easy despite the booming construction industry), about 28 were from "Achmed" or similar. That’s (unfortunately) just how it is. It is therefore not meant to be offensive but reflects life on the construction site. What do you think, how "lovingly" the guys treat each other on the construction site...

By the way, it is quite common that "Estrich Achmeds" actually exist: independent construction craftsmen of foreign origin often name their companies "[Trade][First Name]" because German customers find it easier to remember and pronounce Polish or Albanian first names than their last names. In particular, "rz" and "dj" apparently cause difficulties for German tongues.

It's not about whether they really exist. Nor that they make up the majority. No one has denied that. It's about grouping them based on their nationality or assumed origin. Everyone can handle that as they wish, but these terms always strike me negatively whenever I read them. I'll leave it at that before it escalates, after all, this is a construction forum and not a political forum.

There's also a bit of envy that Ahmed and Ali are a bit sharper in this kind of stuff. It's always assumed to be botched work. When I look here, these unclean (painters, plasterers) and heavy trades (paving, masonry) are almost exclusively in foreign hands. Achim and Hans prefer to go to the office. By the way, the one who recently came from Ahmed drove up in a big Porsche. I’m happy for him.

No, of course not, that's why I calculated a more elaborate mold remediation (removing screed, etc.), which the contractor apparently did not do. He doesn’t care if the owner finds fungi growing out of the wall after the warranty period.

Of course he has experience and can do it cheaply, that’s exactly how he did it. I was actually surprised he found a buyer; I wouldn't have bought it because you could see the cheap work in every room.

I do think that the 90,000€ was somewhat realistic (OK, maybe it would have ended up being 110,000€). But YES, it was lucky I didn’t get this house; the distance was ultimately too far for me anyway.

No no, it wasn’t like that. I have also read across the thread here from time to time and was surprised more than once by the tone of the “bashing,” although not really surprised because it’s basically the same in any other forum. I’ve been around on the internet for a while, so I can judge that pretty well. Post as a newbie in the Rolex forum a real Rolex from the flea market asking for an assessment. Even if it’s a Paul Newman personally, you’ll get torn apart because the loud experts will find signs of a fake in every spot. But it seems to be human nature that groups and top dogs form in forums where it’s sometimes hard to stand up against them. Although you can only look at people’s nicknames, and no one really knows where their expert knowledge actually comes from or what intentions (contracts etc.) the respondent has.

SO, NOW MY PERSONAL UPDATE:

I AM SO HAPPY! First, that I left the construction project house alone, there was no real spark there. And secondly, I have now won a real dream house at auction! I didn’t think I would get the contract. Since the property was listed, I regularly drove by and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t already off the market. I would describe the location as very good; also the overall location is perfect for me and my personal needs! It was a stroke of luck that Section III was so clogged that a presale was not possible. There were definitely about 80 people at the appointment. Since in my opinion the appraisal significantly undervalued the property, the people on site assumed this price, and my bidding strategy worked. 1350 sqm land with 190 sqm living space, which I will use as a two-family house. I’m super excited. From now on it means zero free time.

Hopefully it's clear that you now have to show it as well!
