Shell construction - reduce windows

Hello,

I was told today that it is a common method to use Ytong to reduce the size of windows in the shell construction.
In this specific case, it concerns windows that were built 1.22 meters wide, but are supposed to be only 1.10 meters wide.
The masonry consists of Poroton.

I would be very grateful for quick answers.

Hi, why aerated concrete (Ytong)? So please no mixed building materials in the masonry. You shouldn't do that...... Regards

Agree with E. Curb. Why should one use Ytong now? Reduction with Poroton. When reducing (12 cm), one should probably also work with interlocking, at least with flat anchors or masonry anchors and 6 mm dowels. It has to hold.

Is only this one window too large or does it concern all windows? If it concerns all windows and you are building a house with a facing brick facade, it could also be the stop. The facing brick dimension is after all the dimension shown in the drawing. (would fit: 110 cm width in the drawing and 122 cm Poroton dimension... results in 6 cm stop per side)
