Hello everyone,
we are currently having a house built.
A few things have caught my attention where I am not sure if they are done correctly.
In some places, the corners of the Poroton bricks are chipped, and in some spots, leftover stone pieces (stone discs) have been set in with a lot of mortar. From my point of view, however, these are places where half a brick would have fit instead of 4 thin leftover slices being used and mortared in.
A friend who is a bricklayer looked at it and just said, "yeah, it's just using up leftovers." Nobody will see it anyway. There will be plaster on it. He didn’t say more. He doesn’t see anything wrong with it.
As a layman, I would have cut a half brick instead of using scraps.
It strikes me as strange as a layman.
The Poroton brick relies on the air inside the brick, especially regarding sound insulation and thermal insulation.
Can you tell me something about this?
Best regards
