So, in the two posted photos, the shed roof has a slope of maybe ~8%, and the hipped roof ~20% and roof tiles, which a shed roof does not have.

It's a shed roof and has roof tiles with a pitch between 11° and 60°. Should I find you a hipped roof with 8°?

You like it, then just do it.......or out of distrust build a hip roof and then look enviously over at the neighbor's shed roof, while it drips into your fancy -SAFE- hip roof :Dapart from the fact that it subjectively looks more modern
