We don't often agree, but here... absolute agreement. Why even have this thread here? Many people could have saved their time.

Then your requirements must have been different from those stated above in the thread, .. e.g. that you want to turn a semi-detached house into a terraced house (windows only on one side feel much less open than from at least 2 sides, ...) and that at all times (and your children) want to know everything about every little thing from everyone. Lying on the couch in boxers, ... is possible, the friends of the pubescent teenagers will be happy with the sight.

You misunderstood me. In the meantime, I wanted to thank everyone here for the comments. I have printed out the entire conversation and discussed it with my wife. She also thinks that the door next to the couch looks very uncomfortable. Personally, I am still bothered that the kitchen is in the entrance area. Regarding the terraced house, of course that bothers me too, but the utility room on the ground floor would also ruin the current plan. In my opinion, the stairs would then have to be relocated. We also thought about using the room on the ground floor only for technology and storage for the garden, etc., and the dressing room upstairs as the utility room. The dressing room would then be where the large bedroom is now, and the children's bathroom would be turned into the large bathroom. The wall would then be shifted to the left. That way, we would also avoid the problem of carrying laundry downstairs. Because a laundry chute is not currently available.

You have been given several detailed proposals - I understand that their qualified reflection takes time. But regarding my suspicion (that you were not the initial client of the planning, but are now only remodeling something that was designed for an unknown buyer), one could certainly also respond in a hurry (?)

Furthermore - and not only concerning this thread by far - I am surprised when it is repeatedly said here that discussions occasionally take an internal offline loop among the married couple before the active part of the building owners here returns to the keyboard. To me, this seems like an anachronism from the time when computers were still boxes in study rooms, where only the husband sat and his presence was avoided by the dear wife like the devil avoids holy water. However, in all current internet reach studies, I always hear that the overwhelming majority of users use laptops and tablets - devices that can be pushed on the sofa to the neighbor on the very short route. Could someone enlighten me about this wondrous phenomenon?
