First of all, thank you for your answers!

Nowadays, criminals are also mobile. This is especially noticeable here in Bremen, where the number of burglaries in the affluent neighborhoods has increased significantly.

Exactly that occurred to me yesterday as well. The property to the left of No. 1 would even be better. I was able to rotate the house 90° (clockwise) and mirror it completely. To give you a more precise idea, I will post a picture of the construction project this evening. It would be better for the reason that I would then have the exit to the terrace facing south. With No. 1, the exit would be facing west.

I am also from HB and the break-ins are not limited to the "affluent" neighborhoods...

Then apparently to the cities ;-)
15 years ago, some sandals that were standing in front of the door were stolen from us - otherwise, it's (fortunately) kept within limits here.

Before "mirror imaging" one should clarify how binding the roof orientation requirements are.

And, an exit to the west is not the worst .. in midsummer it is still somewhat shady there at noon and in the evening you can enjoy the evening sun on the terrace while barbecuing.

Oh yes, but also again on the topic ;)

I would prefer No. 2. I personally also see the tree thing as the lesser evil.

Besides, what was it again with planting little trees in life??
