Hello everyone,
I’ll try to keep it brief; I’ll write a general post later. Due to a recent attempted break-in, I want to equip our house with security technology. I was planning to do this anyway, but we are still renovating; we bought the house a year ago. We have a dog, but there should also be some electronics added.
Our old building has new windows everywhere on the upper and ground floors (security class 2) and a security front door. In addition, each of the (many) windows has electric aluminum exterior shutters. I am currently in the process of replacing the old windows in the basement. The house has 2 side entrances (old wooden doors with locks) through which you can enter the basement or garage (and from there into the house). So the weak point is the basement/garage, and that’s where I want to start.
I now want to start building a sensible and cost-effective (cost-benefit) security system. My problem: the variety of offers and when I decide on something, there are points against it in the end (suddenly you need a monthly subscription, etc.).
I would like to summarize what I want and maybe someone can give me a tip.
- The system should be expandable
- Wi-Fi or LAN is both possible.
- Camera systems
- Glass break sensors or opening sensors? I don’t know which is more sensible for plastic windows. We have fixed elements as well as windows that open.
- Management or information via app / on the phone
That’s roughly the basic data; anyone have a recommendation? System type/brand/complete system? Where do I start, what else is important? I don’t want to become a security expert but rather simply build a sensible system over time without having to acquire much technical knowledge. I think you know what I mean.
So thanks in advance for reading and I hope for some answers.
Regards
Tim
