Respect. Looks good. Working with wood is always fun.
But as always, it turns out that it takes much longer than you think :)
You are right. However, it was also because the original plan (to lift the little house out in parts with an excavator, drive it over and set it in) was not feasible.
During assembly, a second "problem" emerged that we had to (re)consider. The original owner had adapted the support beams to his ground conditions. That is, he had cut them in such a way that he got a level surface on the second floor given his terrain conditions.
We then realized this when setting the posts. Although we had measured 100% precisely regarding the distances and cross distances of the individual posts/foundation stones, we did not think of this. So we had to dismantle again, remove the foundation stones and reset them at four different depths (one stone was the starting point, one 4 cm deeper, the next 11 cm deeper and the last 18 cm deeper). Of course, we could have shortened the posts, but we did not want to change the playhouse any further. (As it turned out during the later assembly, this was also the right decision.)
Such things repeatedly caused delays.
But yes – in the week planned in November, we could only have done it using the excavator. However, we would have also run into the problem with the foundation stones then.
By the way:
We stored all the wood on the property over the winter (on pallets). We covered it with tarps.
One of our neighbors told us that when he answered the question of his friends about what was under the tarp opposite his place with: The family stored their BOAT on the property, it was actually believed :D.
a decent [mot] with proper punch works wonders,,,,,
Well – this only helps to a limited extent on hard ground.
We were able to observe this at a neighbor's place 1.5 weeks ago.
Not only did the machine bounce over the ground, but the operator behind it did too. It looked like a superball was on the move :D.
Although we do not know whether the neighbor worked on the original new development area scrap ground or, like us, put more topsoil on top.
