Hello everyone,

we are currently in the process of renovating a bathroom. We definitely want a seamless bathroom.
I have already spoken with a master plasterer.
He made me an offer stating that he wants to use lime plaster and seal it with a transparent 2K PU varnish. (Shower wall, bathtub, etc....)

Is that sufficient?

When I search online for seamless bathrooms, I find many solutions but this one is simply not listed anywhere.

Anyone have experience with the method mentioned above?

I have attached the offer in the attachment.
Other items are also listed.

Hello,

unfortunately, I cannot tell you whether it works in actual use in a bathroom as described in the offer.

Personally, I cannot imagine that it is suitable for permanent use in wet areas.
If this varnish should be the Aqua 2k Pu varnish, in my opinion, nothing in the product sheet (according to the pdf on the internet) indicates that it would be suitable for use as a seamless bathroom.

We also get seamless bathrooms, and especially in the shower area, a tremendous effort is necessary to make it truly waterproof.
You can compare this varnish with our products for seamless bathrooms:

- MSM Crearev (walls and floors)

- Puramente from Frescolori for the shower floor

Both products were developed for seamless bathrooms and are advertised accordingly.

I cannot see anything like that in your offer.
Accordingly, I would be skeptical, as this can create enormous problems.

Hello

Sounds adventurous in my eyes. Have you already seen works by him or references that say something about the durability? I have already skimmed through such experiments a few times because something didn’t work with the sealing.

Hi,
I am considering possibly using this surface as a kitchen backsplash (if it is suitable to be behind a gas stove -:) ). Prices per m² for walls found on the internet are about €200 per m². Is that roughly the range one has to expect or that you have paid?

Hi,

we pay 120 net for the normal walls (2 layers including sealing) and 180 net in the shower area because a 3rd layer including sealing is required here.

In the kitchen area, latex paint is sufficient as a tile backsplash.
