Savings potential in single-family houses

Our planned single-family house will probably be difficult to finance ( ), so I wanted to get an overview of where there might be potential savings.

I am therefore looking for things that are often installed nowadays, but where one can discuss whether they are really necessary and how large the respective savings potential is.

For example, many people build a carport, but in my opinion a simple parking space is sufficient (how big the savings potential is here, I am not quite sure, I suspect around 10,000 euros).

Walk-in closet, third bathroom, laundry chute bay window and fireplace we actually don't need either. What exactly do you mean by the home automation? What can be saved on this item?

Not doing it might save some money.
