Hello,

I am working on a project for my house and have a question.

Since I am building my house with a strong focus on design and want something different from everyone else, I thought it would look great if I could use HPL panels or screen-printed glass panels instead of roof tiles.

With slate panels, there is the method of symmetrical covering where the panels are about 60cm x 60cm and are attached with some kind of clamps and substructure. Actually, it should work with a similar system using 1cm HPL or screen-printed glass panels, right?

Do you know if it is technically feasible? Do you perhaps have pictures of similar projects?

What do the roofer and the carpenter (for the substructure) say?

I only know symmetrical covering for facade systems, is that also possible for the roof? There are gaps through which water runs onto the level below. So a roof-on-roof solution would have to be found?!

I am still planning and gathering ideas, so I have not asked a specialist yet.

That will probably be a custom-made item for you. If it works, you should have a really thick wallet. The slate on the facade is already listed as "from 110 EUR/sqm + substructure," so how much does glass cost (is HPL even suitable for all weather conditions? - it's a laminate after all).
