Hi, currently the exterior walls are already standing on the ground floor. When measuring carefully today, I noticed that one of the patio doors in the living room was shifted by 10cm. Instead of 263cm from the wall to the window, it is now 273cm, and on the other side, instead of 513cm, it is only 503cm (see picture). I don't think it's possible to add 10cm of masonry on one side of the wall recess and remove 10cm on the other side again. I also know that it probably won't really bother (maybe visually a little), but that's just not how it was planned. Therefore, the question is whether anything can be done about it? Possibly also regarding the costs? Thanks and regards

Why should it be visually disturbing? It doesn't seem to be aligned with other windows anyway.

I agree. Neither the appearance nor the technology is impaired here. I would mention it so the bricklayer doesn't think he can keep sleeping, but otherwise, don't make a fuss.

The fact that the eating does not technically cause any problems, I also think. However, it may be that I have already planned the layout accordingly and now a certain piece of furniture no longer fits. Besides, they charge an enormous surcharge for every nonsense, so I can now turn the tables and also demand money since it was not done according to plan. It does not correspond to the house that I “ordered“.

Normally, I would agree with you, but due to various minor issues, I ultimately asserted a reduction. At this time, because of this minor issue, I would refrain from making a big drama and admonish the general contractor to be more precise.

I agree. You pay for it to be done professionally. And it is not one, but ten centimeters. I would definitely mention it and wait for the reaction. Regards Joe
