You can also overdo it. First, the pictures reveal far too little, and second, your drawn circles are in the area of the window lintels, and completely different stones were used there. It is possible that 17.5 cm stones were worked in a staggered pattern that you cannot see because it is on the inside.

That's all speculation. And here, despite professional good work, dismantling is already being talked about.

And then you wonder why the craftsmen become difficult. So, you should really keep things in perspective. I can understand why there are craftsmen who no longer want to work for certain engineers or teachers.

Knowing nothing but nitpicking about everything. And then completely failing at really basic things because, as I said, there is no know-how.

I have built exactly like that myself. Where the lintels are, we took a 12 cm stone inside and outside respectively and filled the middle with mortar to get back to the height. There’s no need for any staggered pattern.

I thank you all for your opinions and comments. The critical remarks are clearly unsettling. However, besides Buchsbaum066, I have also received other feedback (online/offline) concerning what was shown, where the bricklaying is either considered uncritical or "not to be judged like this." I wonder whether this way of masonry at some points actually does not matter and is possibly done more frequently. I also wonder whether another company from the region would actually do a better job. The photo was originally taken for another reason. Therefore, unfortunately, the necessary greying out and missing alternative views are present. No conclusions should be drawn about the client or company.

: You still only refer to the smaller circles above. The others clearly consist of two rows of plan bricks each, and the overlap between them is too small. Sure, the photos are crap, but it would be enough for me not to choose the shell builder - if I had the choice - or if there is no choice due to price or availability, to counteract with increased supervision frequency by an expert.

None of us here is an expert in the sense of being professionally or technically trained in this trade.

Maybe you should try to have a direct conversation and mention your uncertainty about the company. Surely, many things can be clarified, and from the reaction, you might also recognize whether this can be "your" company. I'll put it this way: Not too many companies have collapsed because of this, but if you've seen something like that and are unsettled, then it doesn't just go away. Therefore, I would address it directly. With us, there were 2 guys at the shell construction and some experiences were really weird (drunkenness, etc.). Maybe another crew of this company works differently or more precisely?

Thanks for your ideas. I also find it hard to imagine that it will collapse. However, the likelihood of cracking does seem to be increased. Too many cracks would be unpleasant and certainly involve constant repairs. Does anyone generally know any tips on how to find a really good company for the shell construction? I don’t want to save money here, but rather focus on quality.

We did a company visit at the expanded clay stone manufacturer and afterwards spoke with the sales department. When asked about a good general contractor using their system, they said they were not allowed to share that. Afterwards, with a wink, there was a small nice list. That's how we ended up with our general contractor, planned in Oktameter, the software created the complete stone list, and at the factory it was tailored and delivered for our construction site.
