Retrofitting door brake/door closer for IKEA PAX with sliding door

Hello Ikea fans,

I have been the proud owner since yesterday of a 300x236cm Pax TONNES sliding wardrobe.
The PAX has prevailed despite strong competition from other furniture stores. Nevertheless, my joy is somewhat dampened.

Unfortunately, IKEA does not offer a door damper / door soft-close that "catches" the (quite heavy) sliding door at the end of the track and lets it slide gently and automatically closed.

Almost all manufacturers of sliding door wardrobes offer such a door damper as optional accessory for retrofitting, but unfortunately IKEA does not. In my opinion, the quality of the PAX suffers a bit because of that. Especially since the wardrobe always makes quite a loud bang when the door suddenly stops at the end of the track.

But whatever... The IKEA lady in the PAX department said that it might be possible to retrofit one with a freely available door damper... Now I wanted to ask you if any of you have successfully retrofitted such a door damper / soft-close, or if anyone knows whether such PAX-compatible door dampers are available anywhere...

You would help me tremendously with that.

Doesn't anyone have an idea? The issue with the door brake is still current for us... I would really appreciate a helpful answer.

Take a look at Blum.at

That is a manufacturer for all kinds of hinges, drawer dampers, or door dampers. Maybe you will find one for sliding doors there. If you find something, let me know.
