I am currently browsing through development plans for new construction areas that we found interesting (even if some of them may already be partly completed). In doing so, I just came across the following passage:
(Source: Development Plan 900 of the City of Bochum)
At first glance, this seems very restrictive to me (1.50m distance to all roof sides and a maximum of 50%). Especially since I had always heard that if you are going to install photovoltaic panels, you should put as many as possible on the roof, and here suddenly much less would be possible, or is this still within the usual range of what is generally done? I also often see roofs with only about a 50cm gap around them... Are such specifications common? Is the purpose of this purely aesthetic, or are there other reasons for it? I'm just trying to understand where this comes from.
