Please explain that for dummies. The inverter is softly limited, whatever that means. Usually, without HO/Corona, the car is charged from 5 pm. The battery is still full then, and yes, unfortunately I will have to charge from the battery when the photovoltaics no longer provide anything. Unfortunately, it can't be changed. You also don't wait two weeks to refuel just because the fuel is 20 cents cheaper per liter. Cool:

You should set the battery charging so that it only starts charging around 11 o'clock or so. If your inverter is softly limited, that means it allows more than 70%, but you only feed in 70%. So, let's say your system produces 90% around midday. Then you lose 20% (90 - 70). But if you charge your battery during that time, you can use the otherwise lost 20% to charge your battery. And you don’t need it fully charged by then anyway.

That’s roughly explained.

Yeah, that’s how it is if there’s no other way. But maybe it’s enough if the car is only plugged in from 5 to 6 or 7 pm and doesn’t keep charging after the sun goes down. Maybe you can manage that during the week and then let it fully charge during the day on the weekend.

Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the "effort" is worth it. In the end, it’s not a lot of money you save. I’d probably do it because I’m a bit of an eco-person who would also build a KFW40 house ^^

Thanks, I got it! Sounds logical. I have the inverter so I can't control it by time anyway. Just checked. But maybe it's again only because of the mobile version of the portal. Google says SMS inverter has 5 charging windows. Kostal has none, it says it charges as soon as the photovoltaic produces power. There is no other option.

Attached is my graphic from yesterday: east-west orientation with 9.7 kW. Interestingly, zabas photovoltaics generate electricity from a similar time of day

Depends a bit on the location and weather after all
