Reduce garden house wall construction - How, which wall thickness?

Hello,

I am currently planning a small garden house for our garden.

It should look something like this:

I intended to build it as a timber frame construction with a ventilated facade and inside
also with vertical boarding. Now I have realized that
the wall structure will be about 30cm thick.

Wall structure:

However, this does not fit proportionally with the small house (about 6x3 m interior space).
I have the feeling the walls are then much too thick.

Does anyone have an idea how I can reduce the wall thickness and still keep the same
appearance as in the photo.

Many thanks and best regards
Jens

Why 3cm battens, counter battens, and cladding? Why 12cm stud framing? The house is only supposed to look good and not withstand a war (it’s not even insulated yet!). This can be done much more gracefully ;-)

Why ventilation at all?

yes, and how?

Insulation is still optional, if so probably with wood fiber boards between the stud frame.

therefore the ventilated facade, to my knowledge, is necessary then.
or is that wrong?

12/6 stud frame is too massive???

The general use should be a lounge and sleeping option in summer.

However, I would like to keep open the possibility of installing a small stove/fireplace later, so that you can also sleep outside for a night in autumn/winter.
Therefore, I am already considering how the wall structure could look for that.

12/6 stud frame is fine. With horizontal sheathing, you could save a batten, so 3 cm. And why the same construction on the inside again? Not necessary. Either an OSB board or, if you want a wood look, directly the profile boards horizontally on the stud frame, like this:

Interior air
Profile boards horizontal 19mm
Vapor barrier foil 1mm
12cm stud frame with insulation between the rafters
DWD board 16mm
Batten vertical 28mm
Exterior cladding 19mm

Then you get by with just over 20cm.

If you build the facade with ventilation anyway and clad the inside, I would also apply the insulation right away. It doesn't cost much, makes it more comfortable inside during transitional seasons, and in winter you can keep everything frost-free with a small heater.

Thank you for the suggestion.

But it should be vertical cladding for inside and outside, it looks the nicest to us and fits best with the "Swedish cottage" look.

But you are of course right, the counter battens and battens are exactly what make the wall structure so thick.

Is there an alternative for this, with vertical cladding and insulation between the studs.

How about 8x8? Battens 24mm instead of 30mm? Profiled boards could even go down to 14mm (but I would rather take about 19/20mm). Same look, just not such a thick structure.
