Which roof terrace? From the description, I understand it to be a garden shed with a pitched roof. Where I agree: If four people are supposed to go up there to install a photovoltaic system, it would have to be dimensioned differently.

Roof terrace was also just the illustration that with too many people on the roof, stability can no longer be guaranteed. However, I have not read anywhere about a gable roof. But the construction of the roof truss would also be decisive, and as a ridge beam, I would definitely opt for something thicker.

Where is the construction supposed to take place, wet snow is really intense. It doesn't take a record winter for warehouses, or worse, gymnasiums to collapse somewhere.

Since the wall is to be insulated, I would separate the cladding (Profilholz) and insulation and ventilate behind it. For example, from inside to outside: OSB, stud frame/insulation, DWD, counter battens/air layer, cladding/weather protection. The stud frame in 80 x 100 mm is certainly sufficient. I would also build the roof rather in 60 x 160 mm and possibly ventilate it like the wall.

Hello everyone,

thank you very much for the many responses.

The 80 x 100 really only referred to the frame.
For the roof rafters, I wanted to use 80 x 160.

It should be a simple flat roof with about an 8° pitch.

We live in zone 1 concerning snow load.
Thanks to the hint from Mottenhausen, I roughly calculated the whole thing.

So now I already know that I can use the 80 x 100 beams and work with them.

Can I actually build the whole thing slowly, gradually as I have time?

What matters to me is, what do I have to do so that parts can possibly stand in the rain for some time.

Or should I definitely try to finish the frame and roof in one weekend?

: what exactly do you mean by DWD? Do I have to consider anything for the counter battens? Or just simple 0815 impregnated battens 24 x 48 from the hardware store and done?

Diffusion-open windproof membrane? Or something like that? - Technically definitely something like that. So an under-roof membrane / windproof membrane - diffusionOPEN (no vapor barrier) on the outside of the insulation, so attach it from the outside to the stud frame.

For the battens, impregnated pine should be sufficient. If you want to use a rhombus cladding or other non-closed claddings, you should use a black membrane and black painted battens (also available pre-painted for purchase). Just for the appearance.

The construction sounds reasonable. Don't forget bracing and preferably bitumen felt between the foundation and wood.

For longer construction times, I would cover it with PE sheeting. It costs hardly anything and makes working easier.
