Yes, and if you take the electrician's goods and look at the label, it also says Made in Asia - at least that's the case with our "brand" light bulbs. But luckily you can order new ones for little money (even if the mail from there takes a long time)

Oh dear. We really installed a lot of LEDs (they are already lit; some are connected to dimmers). I thought (in my youthful naivety) that although LEDs are not indestructible, they are supposed to operate reliably over a very, very long period. Learned something new again.

Depends on the quality - therefore, I would never order cheap stuff.... additionally, always make sure there is sufficient heat dissipation, as the parts are quite sensitive to it.

Which spots would have good quality and be as bright as possible?

As I said. I suspect it was simply due to the batch. At first, they started flickering and it didn’t take long before they completely gave up. The replaced 5W LEDs have a different batch number and have been working fine so far.

Regarding the price: I found the combination of LED and recessed spotlight reasonable. I even found the LEDs individually quite expensive at that shop.

As I said, I have mine from Philips and am very satisfied with it - no failures at all. Above all, there is only a single LED inside - I find those spotlights with x points visually really ugly. You can certainly look at Osram too - and yes, they do cost quite a bit more than offers from the Far East on Ebay.
