Recommendation Border Whirlpool

Hello, soon our heat pump will arrive. American style. The terrace is made of Banikrai wood, now we also want to border around the pool. Since water will certainly splash and the wood would be without a roof. Which material do you recommend?

Absolutely not. That is what it is made for. Especially if you use tropical hardwoods. The wood only turns grey, which you know from your terrace.

My mother has had a Bangkirai terrace for 8 years. Every summer there is a pool on it and the wood gets massively wet. It still looks like new. Of course, it has to be painted at least once a year. But that is a manageable effort. In contrast, a friend built his terrace from Siberian larch. 7 years old, you can practically tear it down. Bangkirai is extremely good (and expensive).

Around us was American redwood. I believe ours was red pine. It withstood exposure to weather and pool water very well. We got it through the supplier of the whirlpool. It also is not splintery, which I sometimes find with tropical red wood (hardwood).
