According to the builder, if the quality of execution is not great and he is afraid that the plumber won’t manage to install underfloor heating, it can only be the price. Additionally, the statement that there is only radiators on the upper floor. But the market situation simply allows for that at the moment.

edit: just read the second post, thought underfloor heating on the upper floor was just a question of price. What kind of BT does such nonsense?

What would bother me much more is the botched job, with underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators elsewhere. How are they supposed to get warm at a flow temperature of about 35° anyway....

I assume there are then two separate circuits.

Since higher flow temperatures at the heat pump drastically reduce efficiency. That means consumption increases significantly. And radiators require significantly higher flow temperatures than underfloor heating.

ok, thanks!

Out of curiosity: what advantages does the project have if the buyer can't even choose the current state of the art?

We don’t have to sit on the street for several years starting next year and now get by with a loan about €100,000 smaller, so that I don’t have sleepless nights for the next 15 years worrying about what happens if I lose my job or something like that. Building/buying a house is unfortunately not a 100% wish concert in every region when you need something quickly and professionally around Frankfurt and also don’t want 1-2 hours one way travel time... Is that enough?

Take the radiators. They seem to fit best with the planned technology. Presumably, a high flow temperature already comes into the house via the central heating.

Spending 6000 euros on underfloor heating on the ground floor is ridiculous. Just get some informal information on why it is so expensive. Understanding the situation sometimes helps.

I would take the radiators in your place. There are now quite decent ones available. Your heating technology doesn't care about high flow temperatures, so you don't have any additional energy costs. Of course, it's not exactly modern, but it does have its advantages. Of course, underfloor heating is indeed very sluggish.

Jundb, if you have a heat pump, you should generally also choose underfloor heating because of the low supply temperature. I once read that very large radiant heaters are also built, so you basically have radiators with low supply temperature. It is supposedly even more economical since you don’t have to heat the entire floor to warm the house. Just for your information, I wouldn’t do it myself because it is rarely done. For your information, for a 140 sqm bungalow with underfloor heating, we will pay 5000€ more, but you can’t compare everything one to one, e.g., our BU for carport with storage room is 15000€ or for satellite system 1500€ which I find relatively expensive. Another advantage of underfloor heating: barefoot at home and warm feet. One more point: if you have underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs, make sure that you need two circuits, otherwise either the underfloor heating will be too warm or the radiators too cold.
