with all the discussion, what’s the point of more stable glass when almost no thief breaks a window in a densely built-up area?! (just google how many percent of break-ins involve smashing a window...) more sensible is rather the "wk2 fittings" (or today rc2n), which simply put offers more mushroom heads and prevents the window from being pried open. lockable windows are not necessary, the version with the knob is enough. it’s only about not being able to simply turn the mechanism from the outside. keys still have the disadvantage that you either leave them on the window (hehe) or have to constantly look for them or they’re lying around somewhere. you should seriously think about whether and if so how you want to do that. the version with the knob was included in the price, the fittings for the ground floor cost something like 400-500€. on the upper floor you only need them if it’s relatively easy to reach via a roof or something similar. : while reading after my post I just realized we both wrote the same thing
