I agree with my predecessors: The loan amount is too high, your income is too low for it.

In the long run, you will not be able to make the sacrifices. Especially with a child, absolutely not. From my point of view, the plan is short-sighted.

Have you thought about how you want to proceed after moving in if a washing machine, a dryer, or a car needs to be newly purchased? Where is there still room for a consumer loan then? I see no leeway for that.

Alternatively, you could downsize the house and do without the basement. 150 sqm without a basement also works wonderfully for four people. As an alternative to the garage, a carport also works.

I advise reconsideration!

Hi, may I ask how you have decided now?

The house is already there.

What monthly burden do you have with a net income of 3500 euros and what did you take out on which terms?
I would be very interested.

Best regards

I would also be very interested if you could write an update. Have you abandoned the plan? Or did you manage to secure the financing after all?

I hope they didn’t do that. It makes my toenails curl when I read these numbers. We have a little over 4k net and had over 130k equity and only had to borrow just over 220k, split into a home savings contract of 120k and an annuity loan from the bank of 100k, and the house is completely paid off after 18 years. And we pay about €1100 monthly for the first 10 years and €850 for the remaining time. And even here, I have serious reservations about having 2 children because I fear that we can’t afford it on a single income since everyone earns about the same. In my opinion, such financing can’t work well. The house is way too expensive...
