I also painted the kitchen myself, and the countertop was tiled with tiles by myself. Doors and frames were nicely coated with a foam roller, and ugly tiles in the guest bathroom could be painted with a "toxic" coating. The important thing is to degrease beforehand and have a bit of patience with yourself ;)

But that has very little to do with enjoying the work. I am purely concerned with the result of the "painting performance." I am looking forward to the pictures (before/after).

My wife painted the interior doors with chalk paint and it turned out well. Without sanding, but they weren't painted before either. Seriously: what could happen? 200€ spent on paint and some work wasted. If the result isn’t as desired, you buy new doors. That would have happened anyway without painting.

But the expectations are not the same for everyone. I once sanded and repainted the boat and the front door for my boss. The old farmer’s door in particular drove me almost crazy because it was striped in two colors. I had never done anything like that before. I found it *ahem*, but he found it quite acceptable and was satisfied. Afterwards I just thought, "Well, if you really want it to be good, you have to get someone who has learned how to do it.....

When doing it yourself, we don’t have as high standards as for professional work. But it should turn out reasonable, that’s clear.

I see about €300 material cost for painting compared to at least €2000 for 10 new doors and frames. We already bought a delta sander today. The paint will also cost about €30-35 per liter.

We know how to handle it. As a couch expert, I have already done three-dimensional bodywork on my car. Adjusted sheets, built sheets myself, etc.

Photos will definitely be taken ;)

Monday is the house handover and then it starts :) Today, first we ordered a washing machine :)
